Crying for more chips

It's his first time to eat a potato chips, at age 2 we don't usually allow him to eat junk foods. After we eat the potato chips, he is asking for more and crying a lot but then I told him that it is not good for his age to have more. As if he understand it well, he stop crying and we just play with his new toys I brought from Singapore. I also told him that Daddy bought it for him then he asked "where is daddy?" And he said, "let's go to Singapore, ride an airplane". Ow, he is really a grown up now, I think he became mature when we left him. I promised him that we will be going to Singapore before New year. We really missed daddy, so many crying nights for mommy.

Hello Malaysia! BRB Singapore!

After three weeks stay in Singapore, we haven't landed a job yet. In my two weeks stay, I am fortunate to have a job offer but still waiting for my pass result. So we ended going to Johor Bahru, Malaysia just 5 minutes away from Woodlands, Singapore to extend our stay. We don't have the chance to go to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia because it is too far from JB. We stay at the nearby mall and do some shopping for Dylan, I am so fascinated that they have very cheap prices compare to SG. 1 pair of shoes and pants for Dylan, Shoes for Daddy and Slippers for me and a pair of jeans. We stop by at Kenny Rogers there and we find out that they have the worst service due to laziness of their locals. I ordered this baked potato and I almost spit it out, after that I never dine at KR anymore. We also find out that KFC here was very cheap and of course do have gravy! Unfortunately we are unable to get some, we are not sure if the IO in SG will allow us to carry some chicken with gravy. We spend only 5 hours in JB and we haven't explore it.

SG: World's largest fountain

The world's largest fountain is in Singapore. It is in the middle of 4 Suntec Towers that is near Esplanade and Promenade Circle Lines MRT.

Hoping that Dylan will get the chance to see this, so beautiful and very amazing. It is really huge!

Singapore's beauty

Singapore is well known for its cleanliness and very amazing architecture. As for Merlion(half mermaid, half lion), he still stand out those huge building and still catch many tourists eyes. An additional to Singapore attraction is the newest building- the Marina Bay Sands. And of course, the Durian building (on the right side). Singapore's beauty revealed when lights on and there are so many tourists even locals still get attracted to it.

WOW! That's a real Ferrari!

As we go on our journey in job hunting here in SG, we also enjoy the places we see. The newest prestigious building is the Marina Bay Sands that really got the luxury brands. We got a chance to take a picture with a Ferrari and it is so nice, even though I have no interest in cars I still have a picture with it.

Hello Singapore!

We fly away to Singapore, though it is not that far. This country is very far from ours, minimal pollution-all kinds, no rallies, clean and you will feel safe walking even on nights. I and hubby fly this November to look for good jobs on our field and we left Dylan for Nanay's care. It is very hard for us especially for me to leave my child and I promise to my self that I will be back for him after a month or less. I miss him so much, that every night I cried and always thinking that he was here. When we got to see Merlion, I asked daddy if we can get Dylan immediately so that he can also see what we saw. I almost got my eyes teary every time I got to see beautiful places without him. So here in Singapore, we see different races and their cultures. Most of Filipinos that we acquainted here left their loved ones in the Philippines, either their better half or their children. I feel for them, it is very hard. But, I know I have to be strong and I just have to enjoy this blessing. After all, we have just arrived.

Bye bye Mommy and Daddy

It is really so sad that night when we left him with a very teary eyes. The moment I left him to my sisters, I don't look back and I cried a lot but I have to stay calm. After we passed the IO officer, I cried a lot on the plane and my heart really breaks into pieces. This is my first time to left him alone (without his daddy) and to think it will last for a month. And he has his instinct and he was so sad a week before we left as if he knows that we are leaving. I feel so sad and I am always praying to God to take care for him.

Father's day blessings- 3 Polo Barong and an Ovaltinies

Last Sunday was a very special day to remember the men of our life. I'm referring to our dad and the father of our children and of course our very own father- God. It was a blessed Sunday, we go to church (which we do every Sunday- to worship our very own father) and enjoy the service. After church time, I go out and search for something special and useful for my hubby- Ian. This is his 3rd year to celebrate fathers day and I think this is the best one to remember. So I found this Polo Barong (which he really wants to wear on Sunday), and from 1295php marked down to 199php for fathers day celebration. So, with my quick thinking or should I say-panic buying, I grabbed 3 of them and a pack of an Ovaltinies chocolate candies- his favorite. I get it gift wrapped-its free! When I went home, I give it to him and he was so surprised and very thankful of many blessings we both receive this fathers day. He did not know that I go to mall because of the surprise, I told him that I'll buy some stuff from an Ink shop. I felt his happiness, as for him it is not because of the gifts but because of its use and my effort of course! Here are some pics of hubby and Dylan

OWW..the pictures got stuck on my old digi cam..time to buy new, hope so..:)

A woman's right OR a woman's role

How we can distinguished our rights and roles as a woman? Is it to be assertive with our rights or to be responsible of our roles. First, it's been practiced since B.C. times that a woman has no right but has a role to help his husband through their marriage life. It's been also observed that a woman has no right to choose whom they gonna be married to. But in this generation, it's different- we got so assertive and liberated. But of course, it comes with great responsibility whether we are up with our freedom to choose and say what we wanted. Being a wife, the most responsible that we must be capable of is to be submissive to our husband. Submission is a difficult term for us women because before our husbands, we are very independent and able to manage our lives without men. But again, we women were just created to become a help to our husband- to complete the man, as it is written in the book of Genesis. Submission really means a lot, whether we follow our husband when he says something or argue with it. So, we get back being with our role- to be a help to our husband. Help means a lot, help in decision making, help in times of depression, help in times of overwhelmed...even in our least way, we have to be a helped in our husband. Come to think of it, this is really our role.

A father and son bonding at Burnham

Last April was hubby's birthday and here's a photo when we celebrate his' at Baguio for 4 days. We went to his cousin's house and make a vacation on their home without interrupting their moments, lol. At first day, we just stay at home nd make some rest after our 4-hour van trip. The next day, we went on walking and just an endless walking at session road and bought some veggies and seafoods for dinner. So, in the morning we went in Burnham Park and play along with the lagoon, bicycle and recreational area. Its just a day full of joys and worry-free. After that, we went into the public market and look for something to buy, guess what- I bought just 5 kilos of lemon (lemon is cheaper there-only 25 to 40 pesos per kilo) because lemon here is pricey. And of course, I found something interesting...basil, parsley and mint. I'll post it sometime this month. Happy birthday daddy!

Sponge Cake (Spongebob cake) on Dylan's 2nd bday

I can't help it to put a lot of effort for Dylan's party- my 2nd year old baby last May 15, 2010. He loves spongebob and wants it to be his cake's theme. Unfortunately, mom is so busy with other things for the party. It is a good thing that Mamu is here to make the pinata and cooked the chicken balls aka chicken nuggets. Tita Lyn (my brother's ex gf) is also helpful for putting hotdog and mallows on the toothpicks. And also Ate as the ice tea master. So, I got some time to buy a smal cake at Goldilocks at around 300+ pesos and some for decorations. I found this embossed spongebob sticker at my Abubot's box. So I grab my spatula and liquid food color (blue) and started to crumpled the icing and make it look likes an ocean. I also got inspired with the chocolate blocks and pearl candies so I make it look likes a treasure chest. And of course, aquatic jelly candies and chocolate coins are a must. And add some really cute flowers brought from a local market. And the stickers look like a 3D object in there plus the cute factor of a stationery fish saying "Happy 2nd birthday Dylan"- a handwritten of mine. Also, don't forget spongebob's trademark- burgers! Dylan was so amazed with his Spongebob cake and very overwhelmed with his simple party, lots of kids and play and yummy treats from mom's kitchen!

Benefits of a kiss

Our little ones need more attention than what we knew. We often take them for granted whenever they want something and cry for it. It is very important that even though we didn't give them what they want-we always make something to make them feel good. The power of kissing is beyond what we thought of it, it is one of the most precious thing to give to our love ones to show our affection and their significance. A simple kiss can say a lot of thing like, "I love you", "I miss you", "It's gonna be ok", "I'm here"- its show different positive things and yet the simplest way to show our love. There's a lot of benefits from kissing, such as- comfort, encouragement, trust, amazement, humility, respect and both of the person involve gets the benefits. Like our little ones, whenever they feel upset they need our little lips to ease their pain. Of course, no more greatness than a mother's love. Happy Mother's day everyone!

Looking back at the days...

It's seems that being a mom needs a lot of effort to transform your life to a busy one. I can't imagine that life can be as busy as now compare to the college days I had. During college days, there's a lot of things that I missed- my friends, the bonding, the closeness, the school days, the fun. When I came to remember those things, I realized that life now is more complicated and needs more responsibilities for the family. Level-up to the next level, more chores to do when there is a child, more dinner to prepare when there is an in-laws visit and more argue to have with my hubby. But then, these things made me whole now and if I am going to choose to- I will always choose to have my family at this age. No matter what adjustments needed, I still make it because looking back at the days...now I have my own precious family to live with.

Kofiholic in the making

Hubby and I are planing to put a small business here in our town- Cabanatuan Nueva Ecija. At first, we were thinking about having an Internet cafe with snack bar named as "Wireless bites". So after the feasibility studies that we have, we came by putting up a snack and coffee shop. Well at this moment-it is so difficult to budget our start up money and seeking for trusted suppliers and wares for our store. But first, we have to make a lot of renovation at the place, starting from the paints, flooring, lights, furniture and a lot more! The place that we rented is a former Internet cafe that is within 100 kms from a school, a hospital and a specialists clinic here in Maharlika highway Cabanatuan City Nueva Ecija. The place is so promising, so as the food we offer is very reasonable at its price and really a delicious treat for every one. Also, we have an array of choices of specialty frappe that was studied and used only premium and world class materials. And while you are relaxing but then your children wants to come with you, we have XBOX 360 units and PS2 units that they can play using headsets and wireless controllers. Kofiholic is very very family oriented snack and coffee shop that will truly deserves you to be our loyal customers. Here is the before and after- Kofiholic in the making! Kofiholic is located at Unit2 Casman Building, Maharlika Highway Daan Sarile, Cabantuan City Nueva Ecija and you can reach us thru (044) 329-08-10. See you!

Java Rice or hunger?

Cooking is one of my passion. Whenever we get on a family vacation, you can always find me around the kitchen. It seems that I can't get enough of cooking rather experimenting a lot with different dishes. Rice is one of the easiest to cook yet boring, but there's a lot of innovation to get that plain rice on a rock and roll rice. So this is my first recipe for Rice rock and roll edition, Java rice! I'm not sure where does Java Rice originated, either India or Indonesia but still it is one of the most popular rice mix in the Philippines. This rice mix is so tasty and so delicious, yu can find yourself hook into it. It's been 3 days straight that I've been cooking it here at my sister's house and it seems that everyone got hooked up on it. So, here's it:

Java Rice Ingredients
3 tsp. MARGARINE
2 tsp. minced ONION
3 tsp. minced RED BELL PEPPER
1 tsp. SALT
1 tsp. CURRY POWDER
1/2 cup BANANA CATSUP
1/3 cup SOY SAUCE
8 cups RICE
1 pc medium EGG

Java Rice Cooking Procedure
1. Put margarine on a pan and heat
2. Saute onion and bell pepper
3. Put catsup, soy sauce and curry powder
4. Put rice and mix until golden yellow in color
5. Mix egg with rice and serve hot
Best topped with fried foods and with chili garlic sauce

Enjoy this recipe and for sure the whole family will get hooked to it! It's so easy to prepare and of course so easy to empty the Rice Serving Plate..lol!

Mario vs Luigi

Being a mom, it is very challenging to fit in with the fantasy world of our children. My son is just starting to grow up and being a toddler, he is not yet into computer and arcade games. But I have a bunch of cool little nephews playing their Nintendo DS-Lite each time whenever they finish school assignments and before going to bed. They do have a lot of fun and of course, I also do. We went into New Super Mario Brothers- Mario Vs. Luigi in their DS-Lite. It is so great that we can do play on network in a versus battle. So whoever wins over me shall have the other DS-Lite, unfortunately after a lot of games they only won twice over me. There is a time when my eldest nephew cheated the small ones, and the youngest among them punch him. So the battle ends with a punch and play is over-yet discipline just got started. Play always comes with responsibilities and of course- adults supervision. In the positive side, they learn how to play strategically and fair. On the contrary, sometimes they got punch out or punch someone because of losing it. So it's up to us moms to get them disciplined and play with them fairly.
